i-Properties (2005-2006)
A comprehensive solution to manage multiple properties (e.g. Towers, Villas, Shopping Malls etc). The system provides options to manage booking, sales and rents of the individual units in the properties. Many advanced features like payment scheduling (installments), payment reminders etc. are part of the system. The system is built for one of the key players in Dubai Construction market. Built using Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1, in Visual C# and ASP.Net, uses SQL Server 2000 at the backend.

 

Dubai Public Libraries (2005)
Developed a comprehensive Portal to centrally manage information as well as membership of all Public Libraries in Dubai (under Dubai Municipality). The system provides an administrative interface to manage the Portal contents easily. The system also provides communication channels to communicate and track correspondence with the Library staff. Integrated with Horizon Information Portal, the system added another leap step in Dubai Municipality’s journey towards e-governance. Built on Microsoft’s .NET Framework. http://www.libraries.ae

 

i-Expressions (2004-2005)
A solution to manage CRM activities of an organization. Provides logging and tracking of complaints, suggestion and queries. Manages the workflow in handling the information appropriately for a large multi-department, multi-division organization. Quality Assurance procedures enhances the organization ability in marinating its customer loyalty and satisfaction level. Developed on Microsoft’s .NET Framework using ASP.NET and extensively uses Javascript, DHTML and DOM.

 

   


 Important Projects (at iEngineering - 2002-2004)    

AASHTO's NTPEP Datamine (2002-2004)
National Transportation Product Evaluation Program (NTPEP) is sponsored by Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). At iEngineering, we have developed a centralized datamine for Product Evaluation and Performance data for Pavement Marking Materials (PMM), Sign Sheeting Materials (SSM) and Structural Steel Coatings (SSC). Project is ASP based, with features including Dynamic Graph Generation, Analysis Reports, Excel data Export and DCD based bulk data upload etc. For last 2 years, my role in this project has been architect, designer and lead programmer. http://data.ntpep.org

 

LTPP Pavement (2003)
LTPP Pavement (or iENGINEERING Pavement) provides an alternate method for designing Rigid Pavements. The design process is based upon AASHTO's Guide for Design of Pavement Structures and recommendations from National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Project 1-30. The process also caters for modifications based upon the results from the verification study conducted using Long Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) database. The web application allows the engineers and managers to modify the rigid pavement design to the site-specific conditions, materials, traffic, and design details. Hence achieving the more costeffective and reliable design. The project is based on Microsoft's .NET Framework and developed in ASP.NET. iCollaboration Services (2003)
iCollaboration provides internet based collaboration and communication system designed to boost an organization's efficiency. iCollaboration provides suite of utilities including Directory, Planner, Timesheet, Document Library, Knowledge base, Discussion Forum and Mailing List. PDF*Publisher (2003)
iENGINEERING's PDF*Publisher is a state of the art Digital Rights Management (DRM) system. Publishers can publish their documents in secure/encrypted PDF format, that can be delivered securly to the subscribers. Publishers can impose restrictions on Printing, Duplication and life time of the PDF Documents. http://publisher.iengineering.com

 

Grouppk Product Registration & Licensing System (2001-02)
Grouppk has controlled the licensing process of its products through a new innovative technology that do not allow the registered users to pirate the software products. This new system allows the licensed users to run a product only on one machine. The system automatically detects if a software is being run on multiple machines with the same registration key. This software piracy control techonology was developed using Borland Delphi, with a centralized and automated Registration key generation process, developed in PHP and MySQL.

 

Grouppk's Project Management System (2001)
A project management system was designed and developed for Grouppk Inc. (Parent organization of Marriala Technologies). Build in ColdFusion, running on SQL Server 2000 at the backend. This web application provides an excellent service to manage and control the distributed work environment especially in Offshore development. eStore (2001)
A database-driven, customizeable online store that can be plugged easily into any website. Store owner can manage the inventory of the store through admin interface. Invenotry is managed into catogories and each item contains its description alongwith its image and a thumbnail. Developed in ColdFusion, MySQL at backend and uses. Credit Card Processing is handled through Link Point Exchange and Card Services.

 

InBanners.com (2001)
A banner exchange project by Grouppk Inc. Affiliates can create their account on the website and a peice o HTML code is issued to them. They can place this code on their website. Whenever someone visits the website of an affiliate, a random banner is served by Inbanners.com. Also the website maintains the statistics about how many banners have been displayed on a particular website. Banners of the affiliates are also displayed on the sites of other members in pre-determined ratio. Developed in ASP, using MS Access at the backend. http://InBanners.com

 

PromoPk.com (2001)
A website that deals with e-marketing tools and strategies. Developed an interface where registered members can download the uptodate lists of email addresses. The website contains shopping cart feature, where buyers can purchase eMarketing materials.

 

Pacific Consultants Puchase Order System (2001)
Although it was a simple project, but it contained some innovative ideas. For example, front-end was developed in Macromedia Flash, with database at the backend through Cold Fusion. The project started before the accusition of Allaire by Macromedia so it was an effort to develop Flash-based-database-driven-web-applications. Another important feature of the application was to generate the a PDF copy of the PO and automatically sending it to the customers.

 

Shopping Cart (2001)
A quick and easy to use configureable shopping cart was developed for a WebAppGuru's clients. Options for shipping cost calculation, tax calculation and credit-card handling were included in the cart. 

 

Nekomedia Project Management System (2001)
A project management system was designed and developed for this California based software company Nekomedia Inc. Build in ColdFusion, running on Linux, MySQL is used as backend database. This web application provides an excellent service to manage and control the distributed work environment especially in Offshore development.

 

Lead Guard System (2001)
An enhanced system of management of sales leads and staff for a huge multi-office sales organization. This mega-project was accomplished in ColdFusion running on Linux OS and MySQL database. Made with FuseBox technology, this application/website provides a complete control to 3-teired managerial grid to the company to communicate with their staff. Developed for a US based client. 

 

eNews System (2001)
This web-application is developed for a USA based Financial Newspaper. The application helps the staff to update the news each day through a special admin user interface. Website visitors can read the latest stories by visiting the website. All the back issues and old stories are also archived in a searchable database, helping  visitors to go through the archives. The system also sends the daily news to the subscribers through emails. Developed in ColdFusion with Microsoft SQL Server database at the back-end. Developed for a US based client.

 

IBA@Work (2001-To Date)
The Most comprehensive network of IBA Graduates. Currently more than 500 members are registered on the network and this number is growing day by day. Database driven website has features of updating information by registered members and protect privacy of members by only displaying authorized information to the visitors. 1POPmail (2001)
A web based application that helps the user to check the POP emails. The application is developed in PHP and maintains a list of server configurations in MySQL database that helps in the intelligent login process. User can list, read, delete, reply and forward their mails. This site handles both text and HTML emails and emails with attachments.

Graduate Profile Class of 2000 (2000)
This Graduate Profile is a directory of all students of MBA-MIS (Class of 2000) along with the listing of achievers in academic and extra-curricular fields. Online Version is available at http://ibaatwork.com/gd2000. Printed version available from Placement Office of IBA.

 

ITagency: Online IT Projects Outsourcing Agency (2000-01)
An online agency, that contain two type of customers: IT Experts and Clients. Clients post there software requirements and deadlines on the ITagency Website. IT experts, review the requirements and bid on them. Once a contract is finalized, experts and clients communicate through the website. Developed in Java and Java Server Pages.

 

NetTrack: Online Consignment Tracking System (2000)
An Application Service Provider, developed for keeping track of consignments on the internet. Companies can register their accounts with NetTrack, in order to use the system. Developed in Active Server Pages, Macromedia Flash, Microsoft Visual Interdev.

 

Computer Based Training System (Networking & Security) (2000)
This demonstrate security concepts of Kerberos Server, Communication Protocols and Creating dynamic webpages. Demonstration available in PPS format.

 

Online Customer Satisfaction Survey for OraTech Systems (2000)
A Business Research survey, conducted for OraTech Systems, to access attitude of there customers towards their services in various categories. Survey was conducted using personal interviews as well as online questionnaire (in HTML and CGI/Perl).

 

Live Case Study at Attock Cement Pakistan Limited (2000)
This study was part of course "Managerial Policy", In this study, various business processes were studied at Attock Cement Pakistan Limited. There Marketing Policies and Financial Statements were also studied. After detailed analysis and considering alternate strategies, appropriate strategy was recommended for the company.

 

Trace N’ Track System for Universal Freight Systems (1999)
System Analysis, Design and Implementation of consignment management system for Universal Freight Systems. A web based interface was also provided for the customers to track the current status of their consignments. Developed in Microsoft Access, Active Server Pages and HTML.

 

DeepBlue Chessboard & Draught (1999)
This project was developed as part of the course Object Oriented Programming. All the rules for Chess and Draught are implemented. User friendly drag-n-drop interface is developed in Borland Delphi.

 

Xnum Game (1999)
Famous Cross-Number game (idea extracted from The News International). Implemented in Microsoft Visual Basic.

 

Graph Analyzer (1999)
This application is used to draw 2D graphs of various arithmatic functions, including trignometric functions, log, quadratic equations. Developed in Turbo C++, using Borland Graphics Interface (BGI) in DOS environment.

 

Depreciation Calculator (1999)
Calculates depreciation based upon various methods, including straight-line method, SMYD method and exponential method. Developed in Turbo C++.

 

   


 Important Projects (at AERO - 1997-1998)    
Post Mission Debrief Assistant (PMDA) (1998)
PMDA is a 3D analysis / simulation software to study the result of combat training missions. This software was developed as a support software of Aerostar AV-12 GPS at AERO. This software won over-all best prize in All Pakistan Software Competition. Developed in Microsoft Visual C++ using Win32 API and Direct X.

 

PMDA Bombless Range Rehearsal BLRR (1998)
This is an add-on module for PMDA. This module analyzes the impact of missile (or bomb) trajectories after it is released from the aircraft. 3D rendered terrain of groud is used in this project. Project is developed in Microsoft Visual C++ using Win32 API and Direct X.

 

Cable Catalog for LT Engineering (1998)
Database to store configuration information for optic fiber cables. Developed for LT Engineering using Microsoft Access.

 

Aerostar Lite (1997)
This is a support software developed for Aerostar AV-12 GPS, developed at Advanced Engineering Research Organization (AERO). It provides 2D vector map of the region. Waypoints can be identified on the maps and flight-route for the aircraft can be planned. This data is than uploaded into the GPS. Software is developed in Visual C++ using Win16/Win32  API.

 

Aerostar Simulator (1997)
A Graphical User Interface to simulate the functionality of Aerostar AV-12 GPS. Designed during the development phase of Aerostar GPS to capture the end-user requirements by providing him a simulated GPS. Developed in Visual C++ using Win32 API.

 

CBT System of F-6 Aircraft Fuel System (1997)
Developed for Pakistan Airforce, a demonstration of Aircraft Fuel System. This software is a prototype for building complete Computer Based Training System for PAF aircrafts. Software includes Audio/Visual and textual tutorials as well as self assessment test. Developed for  Windows 9x platform, using Windows Help Compiler. Various utility software were used to develop suppting Video and Audio files.

 

   


 Important Projects (at GIKI - 1993-1997)    
DigiRec, Digit Recognition System (1997)
Developed as Final Year Project at GIK Institute. This project included study and development of Artificial Neural Networks, for recognition of Hand-written characters, using techniques of Pattern Recognition. The project also included study on the performance of the neural network by altering its various characteristics. Software Developed using Microsoft Visual Basic.

 

Numerical Analysis Assistant (1996)
This software incorporates various Numerical Analysis Techniques, as studied in the course Numerical Analysis and Simulation Techniques, at GIK Institute. Software runs in DOS environment under Turbo C++.

 

Graphics Plotter (1996)
This software was developed as part of the course Computer Graphics. It included algorithms for developing various graphical shapes, as well as an interface to draw Graphical Shapes and then store the vector scripts in ASCII text files. Software is developed in DOS environment, under Turbo C++

 

Graphical Interface For Network Utilities GINU (1996)
A utility software that provides graphical interface for various Networking software e.g. Mail, FTP, Telnet and UUCP. Developed in X-Windows Environment, under LINUX operating System, using TCl/Tk (language).

 

Aaghaz Urdu Editor and Language Compiler (1996)
Developed as part of course Compiler Construction and Design. This includes an editor for a Pascal like language (aaghaz), editor includes Urdu Language fonts. and right to left editing. This software is capable of checking the syntax of a program written in Aaghaz language. Software is developed in Turbo C++, in DOS environment.

 

Preventive Mentainence System for Fauji Cement Ltd (1996)
A database of maintenace activities and supporting text, developed for Fauji Cement Ltd., during internship at Cem-en-con cement consultants and engineers. Developed in Microsoft Visual Foxpro.

 

Election Statistics (1996)
This software keep track of results of election of national and provincial assemblies. Developed for keeping statistics of National Election 1997. Developed in Informix under UNIX operating system.

 

Menu Driven Operating System MDOS (1995)
Developed before launch of Windows 95, aimed at simplifing use of computer (DOS) for novice users. Software developed under Turbo Pascal and using Batch-file Programming.

 

Medicine Management System for HIT Hospital (1995)
An inventory management system for HIT Hospital's medical store. Developed during the internship at Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT). Developed in Foxpro 2.5 (DOS).

 

Personal Scheduler (1994)
A case study to develop a software to keep the record of schedule of an individual, and then issuing reminders about the activities. Developed in Turbo Pascal (DOS).

 

Command-line Interpreter on DOS (1993)
A case study to devleop an interperator to add on new commands in DOS environment. New set of commands were interperated at command prompt, similar to those of command.com . Developed in Turbo Pascal

 

Matrix Calculator (1993)
Includes matrix operations like add, subtract, multiplication and division. Developed in Turbo Pascal (DOS).
